time pressures

I've called the vet like 6 times and reached the answering machine (which makes sense by the way, as they usually have just one person handling checkins and outs and payments and also phone calls) so I was extremely relieved to finally successfully get an appointment for Snookums with the new, within-driving-distance vet. His old one was nice, but they were chosen for proximity to our second-to-last apartment and located like... over half an hour's drive away, or 40+ minutes on the bus. Yay, checkup next Tuesday, not gonna run out of insulin!
On the minus side, we've got 2 days until our tenant's moving day (I don't think she's planning to sleep here yet then, just the movers are going to move all her big stuff and furniture then) and the plumber didn't show today. I had a very weak theory that maybe he preferred working on Tuesdays. Guess that was just coincidence before. So we've gotta call the contractor about it again. And be like "So as far as we can tell he seems to be... done... and yet... we have no water...".
In addition, I have 2 days to paint the two rooms. I'm using Uula linseed oil-based paint in the hall, which needs almost a day between coats, so this is a bit of an issue vs typical latex/acrylic/alkyd/plastic paints. No choice though: can't use plastic paints without risking severe water damage to the house. Luckily I'm using an Auro lime-based paint in the bedroom - for its air-cleaning properties, and this room really needs it for some reason -, which isn't quite as tough to work with as Uula.
