What if sleeping 16 hours a day is GOOD?

I thought I was doing pretty well with winter depression this year and then suddenly it hit me like a plank to the back of the head. I just want to sleep 24/7; I feel like I never wake up all the way, you know, like when you wake up at the wrong time and your brain doesn't want to connect for an hour or so in the morning? It never finishes.

My work practice starts Monday. Before I was really excited about it, but as it approaches my anxiety about new places and people, combined with my reluctance to do things that aren't sleeping in bed, is making me a lot more ambivalent about it. And it's not like I can expect to feel much better simply by going there and getting used to it, like you could with say, swimming, or exercise, because there actually... isn't any sun right now; there's a couple of months to go before the sun is up for enough time each day for being out of the house to let me catch significantly more of it...

Not having any sun at all is hard. For the last few years I've just let myself sleep as much as I wanted in January, since I'm lucky to be self employed and in a position with work to do so. But since becoming a parent that's not an option. I've noticed my usual sleep feeling not enough but haven't been able to do much about it - I reckon if you can get more, do it!
