It's hot enough that I kind of want to wear shorts at work - in the 80s Fahrenheit. Most people would be in Alabama. (Not inside, but that's because it's never that warm inside a store there.) But nobody at work does, except one teenager, and hers were Bermuda-length black jean cutoffs. I can't figure out of it's against a rule, or Finns are just squeamish about showing their knees?? But I might be out of fucks to give. Surely they're not gonna send me home.
It's funny, but it's like because Finland is culturally and personally accustomed to extreme cold instead of extreme heat, everyone is hesitant and uncertain about when it's okay to dress for heat. You'd think they'd overreact instead of underreact to heat, and they do, but only by verbally complaining, not typically by dressing for summer at lower temperatures. But we've had record-breaking heat everywhere every summer for years now! How long is it gonna take? But it goes the other way with winter, too. Alabama is confused by it, and everyone is shocked by the cold before they should be, but dressing appropriately for the temperature only belatedly.
