It's the Icy Times
24 Jan 2022 02:06 pmWax still has to call the garage today about the car. ...And it now seems there are two packages to pick up on foot before they expire tomorrow, at two different stores in opposite directions. One of them is registered in Wax's name, for extra fun.
Then I suppose I have to write an email to my career counselor (two weeks belated), because I know I don't have the energy to go to work tomorrow. Actually I'm at the stage of complete despair that our house is too big because there's so much stuff that needs to be cleaned and it's oppressing me with dust bunnies, and I can't even imagine cooking something complicated and am annoyed that the human body has to eat. I can't lie down and cry about that until I get the packages, though.
It's melting again, and after last Thursday's snowstorm, that means there's huge drifts of snow turning into hard-crusted wet slush. All the trampled footprints are developing little puddles in the bottoms, and the Opposite of a Path that our tenant created right where I usually walk down the driveway by shoveling the nice safe snow away to reveal the underlying smooth sheet of slippery ice (still no clue why she would do this) is getting dangerouser because the ice is starting to melt along the top. I hate the Icy Times.
