Dishwasher lives!

Successfully puppysat for a few days for Luci the Havanese. This is her... third? fourth? ... stay with us, and the cats have chilled out. Snookums pretty much ignores her completely. Tristana still sort of keeps an eye on her, but she also isn't afraid to walk by her on her way somewhere else and they greeted each other in friendly fashion - Tristana let Luci sniff her butt and was ALMOST brave enough to attack Luci's tail, which is like a small feather duster. The bunnies have chilled as much as they're going to - they're only afraid if she moves in their direction - which is to say, they were exiled from the livingroom for two days, but they weren't crouching and hiding behind the bars anymore.

I finally finished hanging stuff on the wall in the libroffice so our multi-step furniture rearrangment from a few weeks ago is finally mostly complete. (We still have lots of stuff to take to the dump once the van is fixed though.)
Friday night the dishwasher didn't drain, and it gave us the Not Draining error code. Saturday we bailed it out and cleaned the filter and outtake pump, which exhausted all the advice in the instruction manual, but that still didn't fix our problem. We were consumed by despair, but yesterday Wax tried unscrewing the drain tube from the connection where it joins the trap under the sink to drain it. She put the drain snake thing down the tube, but once again we didn't find anything in it - not even very much water came out. However, when we hooked it back up and ran it... it worked anyway! So we don't actually know what happened, whether there was some sort of clog that was too small to notice or something interfering with a sensor or what. But we're REALLY glad we don't have to call a repair service.
