Pin Me Down, I'll Pin You Up (7657 words) by BoudicaMuse
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Stranger Things (TV 2016)
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson
Characters: Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson
Additional Tags: Sharing Clothes, Apologies, I'm sure cutting someone's clothes off is a kink but I don't know what to call it, let's say it's knifeplay adjacent, Bisexual Steve Harrington, Everybody Lives
Summary:

While a properly handled apology isn't always easy, Steve has found that it does get a little easier each time he has to do it. He's probably like, grown as a person or something from all the apologizing he's had to do.

Eddie finds out what happened to the battle vest he loaned to Steve and he doesn't want an apology, he wants revenge.

Bookmarker's Notes:

This is funny, the dialogue is great, and I am so utterly charmed. Steve's matter-of-fact good guy approach to apology and romantic and sexual attraction to Eddie manage to be touching but also incredibly in character, like a new version of the way he responds to supernatural threats. Which makes it adorable.
§
"What about dinner?"

Eddie rocks back onto his heels and his eyebrows disappear into his bangs. "What?"

"I can't replace the vest and I can't make it magically reappear, but I really am sorry, man. I get that it was important to you and I shouldn't have just left it behind like that. Let me buy you dinner to make it up to you."

Eddie's mouth opens in surprise and Steve can feel the way the guy in Horror is shooting not-so-furtive glances their way. And look, Steve knows how it sounds, but free food is a perfectly legitimate way to apologize to someone. Robin's always making him take her out for apology milkshakes whenever he pisses her off and Dustin once demanded an entire case of SnoBalls when he was a little too dismissive of his precious Cerebro.

He knows there's kind of a loaded meaning behind taking someone out for dinner, but it just happens to be the next closest meal. If it was the middle of the day, he'd take Eddie for lunch. Dinner didn't have to mean it was a date. And anyway, if Steve was going to ask Eddie out on a date, it sure as hell wouldn't be like this, in some desperate, last chance shot at forgiveness.

Not that he's thought about how asking Eddie out would go or anything.

Summary:

“What the fuck just happened there?”

“I could ask you the same thing, Harrington,” Eddie hisses, jabs a finger into Steve’s chest. “Did you honestly bring me along as your plus one? To a date? With a guy who really thinks the Sex Pistols were on to something?

“What,” a date? Plus one? Steve doesn’t even know where to start. “What is a sex pistol?”

“What,” Eddie says, parroting Steve’s confused tone back at him in a way that sounds unfairly boneheaded, “am I doing here,
Steve?”

(Or: Steve has good intentions, but does not realize that punks and metalheads are natural enemies)

Bookmarker's Notes:

I barely followed these references and had no idea that punks and metalheads had a rivalry, even though, obviously, I know they sound different. But that's close to Steve's perspective anyway so the humor of the situation still comes across fully. Laughing so hard at this.

We are Stardust, We are Golden (26374 words) by idiopathicsmile
Chapters: 6/6
Fandom: Stranger Things (TV 2016)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply

Characters: Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson, Robin Buckley, Nancy Wheeler
Additional Tags: himbo steve, touch-starved Steve, the real Stranger Thing...is friendship, Period-Typical Homophobia, HIV Mention, Steve Harrington's bisexuality journey, Eddie Munson: reluctant morosexual
Summary:

It starts like this: Steve, waiting in his car to pick up Dustin and friends from a session of their Chutes and Ladders club or whatever. Waiting kind of impatiently, to be honest, even though it’s not like he has anywhere else to be because Robin’s busy tonight and, as he well knows by this point, saving the world doesn’t get you a girlfriend or glory or even a second age-appropriate friend, it just gets you another evening shift at Family Video and a long personal to-do list.

In the spring and summer of 1986, Steve Harrington contends with the biases of the day, hatches several plans, and finally really gets to know Eddie Munson.

Bookmarker's Notes:

“Everyone says it and it’s bullshit, every time. Simon and Garfunkel were gay lovers, and they wrote that song ‘Woodstock’, and it kicks ass, so you need to get your head screwed on right, because no kid I drive around all the goddamn time gets to spew that kind of hateful crap, are we understood?”

(This is the funniest part of this story, but I burst out laughing quite a few times.)

Summary:

Eddie crosses his arms over his chest and stares at Steve for a good moment. Steve squirms under the scrutiny and Eddie almost laughs at how bizarre this is. “So you want me to pretend to be your boyfriend in front of your ex-girlfriend so her current boyfriend doesn’t know you tried to get her back.”

Bookmarker's Notes:

Some of the best Eddie pov I've read so far, self-deprecating, caustic and hilarious.
§
This is weird - and not Eddie’s usual brand of weird - this is mega fucking weird. Eddie Munson is in Steve Harrington’s house. It’s the picturesque middle class suburban fucking dream home and Eddie has never felt so out of place in his life. He keeps his arms against his chest like Nosferatu, scared to touch anything and break it. He breathes a little easier once they’re in Steve’s room. He doesn’t exactly care if he fucks up Steve’s stuff.

Eddie looks around in surprise. The room is more minimalist than Eddie would have imagined. He was expecting at least one poster of a half naked chick. All Eddie finds is a picture on the desk of Robin, Steve and Dustin. “Oh my god,” Eddie says, bringing his free hand up and covering his mouth for a moment. “Is this real?”

“Hey, put that down!” Steve shouts, rushing over.

Eddie quickly puts it behind his back to keep it away from Steve. “You seriously worked at Scoops Ahoy? You wore this outfit and everything? With the hat and the shorts.”

“Yes, I did,” Steve says snippily. “Now will you please put it back and forget you ever saw it.”

“Why?” Eddie asks, booping Steve on the nose. “You look cute, Harrington. I’m sad I didn’t get to see it in real life but I avoid the mall at all costs. Something about all that consumerism makes me break out in hives. Do you still have the outfit?”

Summary:

Eddie survives, but his entire life is locked away in the Upside Down forever (his books, his DnD stuff, his guitar.) Everything that wasn't on Eddie when Steve carried him into the ER, gone.

So naturally Steve starts giving him things. Handing Eddie back those little outward markers of who he is.

Bookmarker's Notes:

Just warm and achingly sweet. Love the glimpses of Eddie's pov.

Summary:

The kids convince Steve to take them all to a Renaissance Faire and LARP event.

Steve has more fun than he admits.

And then Steve has a LOT more fun than he admits.

Bookmarker's Notes:

A really fun read, lovingly and almost stupidly detailed about a ren faire and larping. Sweet, fairly classic romance with lots of UST and no real conflict. The setting is the real star here, so although there's a fully developed romance, the plot and structure are rather irrelevant. Weirdly reminds me of those Babysitters' Club summer vacation special books...
