We're having another heatwave this week (albeit today we got a break thanks to thunderstorms), so it was time to give the bunnies puppycuts again, the last time they got their floofs trimmed being in May. (They weren't completely grown out yet, but they were definitely looking muppety again.)

I haven't actually gotten any good, well-lit pictures that completely convey how hilarious the bunnies look when shorn, because you want action shots to be able to see their limbs and bellies and necks and so on. And feet. (A puppy cut involves cutting enough floofs off of the tops and bottoms of Rowan's back feet alone to double the volume of fur on Tristana.) The trash can is literally full of bunny floof right now, like two inches shy of the top rim.

There isn't a lot of natural light on the bunnies, because their territory is the two northwest rooms of the house that don't get any direct sunlight all day in the summer and are consequently naturally the coolest. Which is good for bunnies, and also makes them great to hang out in, but problematic for photo shoots? I guess I'll have to carry a bunny into the hallway and pose it on a little table or something if I want to get glamor shots. But in the meanwhile,

I trimmed the neck and chest ruffs/bibs down to help them cool off, and I did cut the fronds around the base of their ears, but I couldn't bear to take them all - I love the fronds. And I left them each some (shortened) muttonchops, which was possibly bad for cooling? But they just look so silly without them, and once when they got out and fought Rowan bit Japp on the cheek. This way I guess they still have a little protection.
