Peanut butter lemon?

cimoreneLast night Wax made a mini peanut butter lemon cake to try out, because I didn't want to risk wasting all those ingredients on a big one in case the flavor combination didn't work, but it was DELICIOUS!
Now we're gonna make a peanut butter lemon layer cake by combining two recipes, but I tried googling and I couldn't find any other recipes or products combining these two flavors! Which seems bizarre!
My first reaction was suspicion when Wax suggested it, so maybe that's why. But it was fantastic.

Our experiment was a microwave cake made in a cereal bowl and Wax just made the same peanut butter vanilla cake as usual, but with lemon instead of vanilla extract. I found a peanut butter layer cake recipe and a lemon layer cake recipe though, and we compared them and decided to make the peanut butter one (because the amount of oil and solids in a big chunk of peanut butter means altering the other fats and dry ingredients in the cake to compensate) but with the lemon zest and juice amounts called for in the other recipe, with lemon cream cheese frosting. We won't be able to eat it until tomorrow though.
