The YouTube algorithm is such virulent toxic waste that even though I've listened to nothing on my work account but instrumental classical music, it's trying to recommend Jordan P/terson and his racist covid conspiracy theories.

I listen to very little but instrumental music (the rest is choral work and opera), but the YT algorithm appears to be set to throw in a random batch of examples of stuff that's either current news or weirdness memes anyway. I train it by clicking on lots of instrumental music even when I don't have time to listen to them all, just one after the other. This seems to improve the proportion of interesting relevant music that shows up. Sometimes it's even new recent performances, or even first performances of rediscovered scores.

That's grossissimo.

I use Deezer and pay for premium because it lets me exclude artists and tracks and, as someone with musical PTSD triggers, that's very important to me. If you have specific classical artists you like, I'd be happy to see if Deezer offers them, in case that would be a viable alternative?

Oh, I see! In that case I hope it stops doing the racist thing.
