Haven't we all spent ten hours in (not) Photoshop (gnu image editor, the free sub) making better covers for the ebooks that come with ugly ones so we won't have to look at them anymore in the ebook app?

Heh, if I did ebooks that would *totally* be me 😁 ... says the person who still hasn't gotten around to making new icons since returning to posting on DW well over a year ago, lol. But it's much easier to do it for one instance than a whole set ...

It is kind of a whole set though, because there are a lot of ugly ones!

Oh that would be so much better than those horrible brown ones with the little filigree stripe!

The autogenerated Project Gutenberg ones now were the biggest eyesore in my library.

In Calibre, for example, you can swap out the cover with any image, so you can make your own if necessary.

Though I think it's only fair to say that most people are more likely to simply download an alternate cover from the Internet, and Calibre as well as many other options will autogenerate a text only cover. There are limitations though, so if you're very picky and very familiar with image editing software and have lots of free time...
