historical real person slash: byron/shelley. plus twisted threesome with mary shelley (percy shelley's wife, that is). author of frankenstein, which seems quite full of sublimated homoerotic impulses, as pointed out the cool lesbian novelist teacher. there's all this male/male stuff and then she sticks a woman in between...

i'll be very lucky if i escape writing this.

well, tell me this: will anyone read it?

oh. well, i'm somewhat surprised, but thanks.

did you know she wrote frankenstein as the result of a challenge from byron, while at a retreat with just the three of them in the mountains somewhere? yeah. hmmmmmm. *wince*

I did, in fact. =) They were all to have written something, but only Mary's story ever came to anything. (Although I thought there'd been a fourth person with them. I could be wrong.)

And -- as if you needed any more fuel for this one -- historically, Byron has long been reported to have been bisexual. So, really, it's begging to be written.

Me! Me! Oh I would so read it.

And whatshisname, Byron's physician who wrote that Lord Ruthven book when Mary Shelley wrote Frandkenstein... I think there was something going on with him, too.

you aren't more pretentious than ME, surely.

however. know nothing about byron's physician. research is clearly in order before i write. not to mention an essay and homework.

hmph.

His name was, like, John Polidori I think. Six years since I knew this stuff, so it could well be that I pulled it all out of my ass and you can ignore it.

Oh, dude. I would SO read this.

I swear that the first time I read this light biography on Byron I thought 'I really want someone to write Byron slash'

We're corrupted young, y'know.
