html table question

okay, i know how to make tables.

1. how do you make a partially transparent one?
2. how do you make a visible border?
3. how do you dictate the width of the border?

(yes, naina, this is for your page.)

also my waxlet is back alive. even though she's asleep. but. i'm content. (except for this little thing which is that i, too, should be asleep...)

For a table border:

Create a table with 1px (or more) padding, make bkgr color whatever you want the border to be. Immediately inside that table, create another, and make the bkgr color the color of your page bkgr.

table width="500" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1" bgcolor="#000000" style="Filter: Alpha(Opacity=50)" will give you border transparency - in this case, 50%)

--problem. if you make the interior table partially transparent won't the exterior table show through it?

Hm, yes it would. Oops. Put this in your Head section, and put

< style type="text/css">

.border { border: 1px #000000 solid}
-->
< /style>

(don't forget to take out the spaces before the style and !- tags)

and use this tag on your table.

how can i make the text opaque on top of the table being transparent?

Well, damn. The only thing I can think of is to make your text black, which gives it a nice darkish blue color.
