cimorenei live in off-campus housing, a 'quiet house' in a residential neighborhood. in the two blocks between me and the planetarium, president's mansion and registrar's office there is mostly faculty housing, which i have been assured the adorable little house next door to us is.
a few days ago i saw a mother and three small children putting up ghosts on wooden stakes--round heads with sheets draped over, faces drawn on. they're a few feet apart, with their hems clipped together to make the bottoms of their skirts stand out a bit.
their faces look like:
0.0 0.0 (normal ghosts) 9_6 (with its tongue sticking out!) 0.0
...
