gahhhh. itchy with awakeness, but have officially decided to skip one class today because i hate it and i've made a's on the last three quizzes in a row. it. is. FRIDAY! and i might get to go dancing today.
--contradancing is sort of a traditional form, like, and so there's a male role and a female in it, which no one regards. boys dance with boys and are meltingly adorable when they get all into it and make up their own little flourishes. girls dance with girls in their long skirts, and grip each others' arms (rather than traditional ballroom hold) for the "swing" (ie, spin) and lean back against each others' weight and practically fly around with skirts and hair flying. everyone smiles. it's fantastic. the problem is that i'm not yet really good enough to dance with another girl, though that works a lot better size-wise, as good guys tend to be too strong and practically pick me up off the ground or accidentally spin me onto the floor. anyway, dancing with girls is a lot harder, because i get confused. am beginner! have only learned the girls' steps! and furthermore, the female spin is harder to get with the weird arm grip, though is quite secure when you finally manage. hum. as have nothing else to do but study or write (*weak laughter*), will go dig up a picture of contra.
