waiting for calls today--a lot. and made a few. offline all day! the salient points to emerge?

+my little sister, [livejournal.com profile] cuddlepint, arrived safely in texas after all.
+i'm still without any means of contacting my mother.
+i can still expect 3-5 'i'm sorry'/'anything i can do' offers a day, oftentimes from people i don't actually know at all.
+someone i've never laid eyes on in my life mowed the lawn (unannounced, to me) today.
+going to see finding nemo tomorrow with lisa, the adoptive sister, to rescue her from a bitchy friend of hers i don't like.
+the first two sherlock holmes novels, a study in scarlet and the sign of four, aren't particularly suggestive of slash to me. not that i don't want to read it anyway.
+[livejournal.com profile] kitten_head has the internet back.

i've found "a scandal in bohemia" and "the adventure of the empty house" to be duper slashy. and the baskerville novel to be only slightly.

and i haven't read those stories, they're not in the collection i have, but they're mentioned within everywhere. are they separate short stories or novels or...?

they're both novels, chronologically the first story (watson meets holmes) and the second (watson meets mary morstan, aka mrs. watson).
