Damn. I was still prepared to defend her ("Maybe she's new at this!"), albeit half-heartedly, right up until that Mary Sue disclaimer. *laughs/gags* Margaret Thatcher once said something along the lines of "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you're not." I think the same idea holds for Mary Sue Denial - if you have to tell people it's not, it is.
