i didn't realize it, but the chronology of sherlock holmes's cases and watson's life is a matter of no little debate.

"Who do you think it should be?" he asked me.
"Dude, Conan Doyle!"
"Oh. Yeah!"
I don't know if he presented it, or how it was received. He never answers when I ask. ;)

Date: 26 Jun 2003 08:38 am (UTC)i've come to Enlightenment, i.e., conan doyle didn't give a rat's ass about the chronology, so it's full of indicators which would allow anyone to interpret it any way they want to. thanks to that, i'm going to put the most strikingly slashy adventures after the Return and assume holmes to have been speaking metaphorically when he referred to watson's second wife (i think watson has adopted a n injured puppy, which he's keeping at his practice).
