+the dispenser drawer for the detergent says DETERGENT on it and has a little label at the bottom: 'safety lock--press right to release and open dispenser drawer.' 'see, here,' i said, 'where it says DETERGENT. i bet it goes in there.' (i'd never used it before.)
+there are a series of buttons used for setting the wash cycles. one button with a list above it like 'normal, heavy, delicate, hand wash'; another button with a list of temperatures; another button with a list of options. it's easy. or so i thought.

luckily he's only a substitute for our regular m-thu attendant. ideally we will have someone different next friday.
