theory that the chess game at the end of philosopher's stone is a metaphor for the second war between voldemort and the forces of good. interesting but a little overboard--reminds me of my high school english teacher. but they'd certainly get a good grade.

Yeah. The chess thing I can certainly see, but Ron as Dumbledore is just a little too much of a stretch for me (although I must say I'd always half-wondered if he might be related to the Weasleys somehow - the physical similarities jumped out at me in the text, too).
