who's iain glen? and tim roth, who's that?

you know, gary oldman was cute as a youngster. rosencrantz, that is. i'm still not pleased with him as sirius.

Tim Roth was also the producers' first choice for Snape in the HP movies, but he wasn't interested.

R&G is the greatest. I actually noticed Gary Oldman in that movie (though I'd admired him in other things before, I hadn't bothered to note who he was). And Tim Roth. The cast was great.

And BTW: Tim Roth was also the producers' first choice for Snape in the HP movies, but he wasn't interested.

GAAAA!! I'm imagining it. GAAA! Oh I wish that had worked out.

hm... well, he's kind of old for the part too although not as old as la rickman. i wish they could have cast age-appropriately for those movies, really i do. gary oldman's a great comedic actor, but how will he do as sirius? was my doubtful opinion, pre-r&g. but now i believe he will be quite fine although he by no means fulfills my mental image of sirius (i'm totally stuck on rufus sewell for that).

anyway, what i mean to say is: tim roth might be more age-appropriate, but it's hard for me to imagine anyone doing a better job than rickman. i mean, really, he's absolutely brilliant even despite being notably too old for it. you forget.

Well... I've found that Oldman can do anything. He can even look like almost anything. Though it's still up to the director how well it comes off.

Rickman was of course great. But a friend of mine was a huge fan of Tim Roth and I ended up watching a lot of Roth with him. And just picturing Roth as Snape...

ahh, yeah. oldman does indeed appear rather brilliant, and amazingly versatile. but i hadn't seen enough of him before this movie to know it and it struck me like a lightning bolt, and now i'm a leetle bit in love.
