i've typed up some more extended bits of rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead, including the stage directions from the screenplay, over in [livejournal.com profile] rosnguil.

right.

i squandered $5 yesterday on a case of clementines that have turned out not-great. but oh, i couldn't resist! i regret it now. still no movie. i think we're having wine and a movie, in celebration of job-getting.

i feel even *more* celebratory about :

(1) finishing the singin' in the rain story.
(2) this REALLY DELIGHTFUL middle-aged!tim roth/gary oldman fic bouncing about in my head, that i've been batting with [livejournal.com profile] wolfsage. i can't wait to write it. but i'm savoring the anticipation.
(3) two e-mails from k'sal in two days.
(4) a bunch of loacker quadratinis in the cabinet, in various flavors from hazelnut to chocolate to wildberry to vanilla to coconut.

last night i read the arm of the starfish, (c) 65, l'engle. it was fantastically slashy, even amusingly so. but in the spy novel, i have to say, l'engle isn't at the top of her game. in fact, if it were fanfic, i wouldn't rec it. it practically qualifies as badfic! there were some bad plot points and i kept wincing and going 'oh, god, you MORON.'

it's the sad, sad truth about ms. l'engle that she's just not much of a writer. slashy though? that makes me want to go back and read it again. during my last re-reading l'engle phase, i got stuck on the sandy/dennis twincest.

i really don't know what you're talking about, sadly, because i haven't read the trilogy since about fourth grade, i think. maybe before. third? and this is the first book of hers i picked up in all that time. a real shock! i can't believe she got a lifetime achievement fantasy award. geeeeeeeeeez.
