Maybe they're also discouraging the shipment of freeze-dried blood? Or, more likely, they're writing to the lowest common denominator on this potentially hazardous issue--just as things that can catch on fire are labelled "flammable" rather than "inflammable."

While it's true that blood is most often a liquid, it can also be a solid or freeze-dried into nice crispy flakes. It's a beverage, it's a snack!

Perhaps the warning label was written for the undead as well as the living. Though the undead don't usually follow rules so much.
