it took me almost an hour but i found the laundry room. the layout of the student village is sort of random, but my immediately turning in the wrong direction played a part in it.
i got there at last to sign up for time and discovered:
a) i didn't know what time it was and
b) i didn't have a timepiece or my phone but
c) i didn't really need to sign up because the place was almost empty and people had hardly signed up at all but
d) i could've done my laundry right then but i hadn't brought any with me, because i assumed the machines would be full.
i'm thinking i'll go back with a sackful and do one load while i read and munch and listen to music, after i've maybe tidied the kitchen a little. it is still too early to call daddy.
i also discovered, by the way, that
e) it's about one minute's walk from the closest stairwell, if you count going up and down the stairs.
i can't remember the name of the strip this icon came from, but it was linked by
omega_h and it was very funny.
