hey lilah.  you know how i said danny and mac were never in the same room in 1.10 with the beautiful eye- and lip caps?

mac's in his office clicking away at his giant, sexy... apple computer.


danny comes to the door looking deliberately casual and leans on the doorframe.  "hey.  aiden and i cashed in on the pick-pockets.  closed it out as an 8-2."



mac nods briskly.  "good."  he glances down.  the pause seems awkward to me.


danny's eyes flicker and he licks his lips, hesitating--maybe a little hurt.




mac adds, "why don't you go home, and you can catch up on the dd-5's tomorrow."


danny, thinking, how directly do you have to ask?, jerks his chin at mac's computer.  "what about you?  wanna go grab a beer at sullivan's?"


mac leans forward towards the computer screen again:  "not tonight, danny."


danny says affectionately, "don't go blind."


mac smiles kinda tiredly.


danny turns to go, not too quickly. 


and mac looks up at him for a moment before looking down at the computer again.

for like five minutes or more after the episode was over last night, i was alternately squeeing, giggling about their cuteness, and snorting with laughter at my own ridiculousness. part of the time i almost couldn't breathe. wax thought it was quite amusing. she sat there patting my head going, "there there. there, there."
