i just wanted to refresh my memory of tanglewood, even though i've already capped it, before i watched the next one. but i got carried away.

MAC fiddles with his gun.

DANNY stops in the door.
DANNY: is it safe to come in here?

MAC looks up, startled, and then laughs, but doesn't pause in his gun-holstering activities.

DANNY laughs too.

MAC: holsters bother me... what's up?

DANNY: nothing, i'm just waiting on some results. how's that tanglewood case goin' for ya?
his intent expression when he says the latter, though, and his little eyebrow wrinkle, betray his nervousness (although not to mac).

MAC, casually: oh, steady.

DANNY: steady, [nod], steady's good...

MAC looks up curiously.

DANNY, licking his lips: ...steady's good.
MAC senses SOMETHING, anyway. he gets serious.
MAC: what is it, danny?

DANNY babbles about the tanglewood kid and the need to belong and the tragedy of it, making lots of expressive little faces.

MAC nods solemnly. mac thinks it's tragic too.

MAC talks about it as being the same as being in the marines and danny gets quiet, eyes downcast.

DANNY: he made the wrong choice.

MAC: yeah, but YOU had that choice. you could've gone with those kids but you were smarter than that.

DANNY doesn't appreciate this irony.

MAC goes on about how danny should be proud of himself.

DANNY: i am proud of that. [he nods very slightly, looking pained.] i am.

MAC: good. get to work!
MAC smiles just slightly, probably his idea of flirting, but danny isn't in the mood.
