+ turku slashas, wax says "probably sometime after seven" is ideal for our vappen slash-fangirl-costume-party. what do you think? 7.30 too early?

azureflight drew the cutest good omens fandoodle EVER for
irisbleu, here.
+ Pre Crowley/Severus, Pre Crowley/Aziraphale, Pre Flitwick/Millicent/Dreya. Yet somehow, I think that it's PG. (At this stage) i just can't wait to see the introduction to the next stage.
+ i didn't see the butterfly effect cause i heard how much it sucked, but i did see the trailer, which i think is enough to say that there are some strong similarities. the visuals were sort of dark and edgy, and i thought the film got presented that way--"psychological", "mental hospital", "is she a hallucination or isn't she?" so it's a good thing i didn't have my heart set on dark and edgy, because aside from the visuals it wasn't at all. it was rather naïve in the sense of unsophisticated. it was a romance, and it was sentimental even in ways beyond romance. the story was quite simple and straightforward, not mind-fucking or thought-provoking (unless you want to debate the ethics of mental institutions, which you *could*, but the film doesn't even begin to). it was pretty, well-shot, well-acted, and well-executed. and quite enjoyable. but it wasn't very demanding of the viewer's powers of comprehension. i don't mean this as a criticism. i was surprised, but not disappointed. i actually liked it a lot. i think there should be more fairly straightforward well-done romance films out there. i'm a connoisseur of romance. that's [partly?] why i love slash. and i know i have some sentimentality lurking in me too.

makesmewannadie posted, in batches, over 100 recs over the last two days. if you've been looking for things lately, check it out. she's my primary non-archive, non-crack van source of recs scrounging nowadays (oops, should i have told you that?). some sentinel, some due south, some random rps (:curtsey for mmwd--that was sweet although i don't get the bar metaphor:), some sga, some house, some lotr rps.
+ the birds are shining, the sun is chirping, the breeze is breezing, the afternoon is ambling and all is pretty good with the world, except i suspect wax isn't going to want to watch any more star trek. i should've taken my chance while she was still asleep. class is entirely over and done with.

Date: 29 Apr 2005 04:22 pm (UTC)I'm your pusher! *glee*
The bar thing was just the feeling the whole story gave me, like low lights and heat and loneliness and a little bit of hope and desperation and confusion thrown in. Maybe it doesn't make sense if you didn't spend as much time on barstools in your twenties as I did. :)
