blood roses by tori amos*
also. "father lucifer", also by tori. and "lily of the valley" by queen, "you may be right" by billy joel. ahahahah :cough: and "someday we'll know" by mandy moore and jonathan foreman :cough:.
(i document these little thoughts for posterity--in the interest of preserving the freakiest aspects of this little obsession. i'm struggling with urges to make icon song-sets. to, like, eight different songs.)
*
dinah washington - you don't know what love is
dinah washington - since i fell for you
esthero - swallow me (the lyrics don't fit, but i think it'd make a nice sex-themed vid)
esthero - breath from another
esthero - don't mean a thing
evanescence - my last breath
evanescence - everybody's fool
garbage - lick the pavement
garbage - untouchable
garbage - til the day i die
garbage - fix me now
diana krall - a case of you
paul oakenfold (vocals grant lee phillips) - motion
emiliana torrini - telepathy
dido - i'm no angel
mandy moore - cry
paul oakenfold (vocals emiliana torrini) - hold my hand
louis armstrong - cabaret
sarah slean - i know
sarah slean - my angel (i hate the word angel: why do people have to make songs about it that i then get hooked on?!)
sarah slean - me, i'm a thief

Date: 10 Feb 2005 12:46 pm (UTC)Thanks, this is a great call. And I so won't ask about the Garbage ones, because they didn't open to me at all, and I'm not sure I want to know...
I'm now inspired to make a Highlander playlist of my own.

Date: 10 Feb 2005 03:18 pm (UTC)til the day i die (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/g/garbage/57889.html) is pretty straightforward. i pretty much buy the Methos's Love For Duncan Explains Everything interpretation of canon, so. (don't forget to take "in your arms" as having to do with sparring, though.)
fix me now (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/g/garbage/57895.html) works fine since it's a universally angsty show. in the vid in my head, it's methos's pov at the beginning of their mutual canon and then duncan's later on as he gets more angsty.
and here's dumb (http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/GARBAGE/Dumb.html).

Date: 10 Feb 2005 03:30 pm (UTC)But, Till The Day I Die connects with this Elrond/Legolas kick I was on and I can't help it after all these years. Although I can see how that was evil and horrible and holy fuck. I'll work on this, but I think that will always be the primary association of that song. Sad as it is.
Have to think about Fix Me Now a bit more. Might just be because I never liked it as a song. You might be onto something there, but it's also generally angsty in a way that makes it applicable to almost anything.
Sometimes it just takes a fresh pair of eyes on a song. I love fandom song calls like crazy, really.

Date: 11 Feb 2005 11:49 am (UTC)and fix me now--i read the lyrics BEFORE i listened, and i like the lyrics better than the sound. when i make my short playlist (cd-burning length, but that's not going to be for some time) it may not make it.
