icons + songs:

sweet desdemona, lock away your fate/ your own hells forsake you as i go out your gate/ when the wolves come to take you i will not be there/ don't look for me to save you/ you can drown for all i care esthero - it don't mean a thing
*
i've made the same mistake/ i know the awful ache/ of a little heart that's been double-crossed/ the waiting's been so long/ it's hard to be believing/ i thought i'd missed my guess/ i thought happiness for me was lost nina simone - tell me more and more and then some (written by billie holiday)
*
i never claimed to be your saviour/ i said i had a dirty mouth garbage - dumb
*
oh good day orphan town/ peace is raining down/ warm your hands on my shoulderblades/ my parents gave me this peace/ who we are is how we love/ that is all i need sarah slean - narcolepsy weed

1.  you walked into the room/ the sun hit my eyes/ the force you struck me down caught me by surprise garbage - til the day i die 2. you can be so lost and so found/ deep inside of me/ swallow me esthero - swallow me 3.  sarah slean - narcolepsy weed (see above) 4.  now that you know what you know/ i bet you wish you could let it go/ you'll never come sucking your thumb/ better off dumb garbage - dumb
*
cold as a lover/ don't you want to stay?/ breath from another and i'll have my way esthero - breath from another

don't speak to me of love/ because you don't know the truth/ it's too late to say you're sorry/ just put on your walking shoes esthero - it don't mean a thing
*
you can't wake/ i can't sleep/ and now they've got you/ stealing cars and chasing lullabies/ how will i drag you out of motel daydreams?/ when will you realise?/ i don't make sugar promises/ like dandelion seeds/ lying still with open palms/ i'm only watching you breathe sarah slean - narcolepsy weed

business is business/ especially this water into wine/ is this the game i'm supposed to play every time? sarah slean - bank accounts
*
what has it cost you/ i almost lost you/  a long long time ago/ you should have told me/ but you had to bleed to know/ all your past sins are since past/ you should be sleeping/ it's all right, sleep tight/ through the long night with me billy joel - through the long night (i like the lyrics better than the song itself though)

i know you're lonely cause you're just like me garbage - lick the pavement
and this one *
trouble in mind, i'm blue/ but i won't be blue always/ cause the sun's gonna shine in my back door some day/ i'm all alone at midnight/ and my lamp is burnin' low/ ain't never had so much/ trouble in my life before nina simone - trouble in mind

and a couple of jokes:
*

and my favorites of the ones without text, just for eye candy:

the ones with * are mine, but if by some strange chance anybody wanted the other ones, they could have them.
more songs coming later at some point, after my playlist is finalised.

You know the best part? I have never even seen Highlander the series. But just watching you get all excited about it is enough to make me kinda want to :)

I loved the Kirk/Spock valentine, and the Ros'n'Guil one, and the Nemo one... Bless.

ahhaha. what does "bless" mean in that instance? it totally sounds like something a very southern person from alabama would say, in which case it's a meaningless interjection; but aren't you a french speaker?

the fanfic is much better than the series. the series frankly sucks. the good part is that methos is so incredibly hot. but you can just watch some fanvids for that. i recommend the ones at killa's website, but i don't know the address off-hand.

Yeah, it was a meaningless interjection. And speaking French is only my day job; I was born and raised in Scotland. But not Alabama. Heh.

omg, if you're really scottish, i bet a lot of the bad Scot Themey Stuff in highlander would tickle you pink. authors who already have that bad habit of using appositives constantly sometimes carry over to using them in sex scenes, and a lot of them are fond of "the Scot." even in bed. there are probably whole sex scenes written with no names, just the Scot and the old(er) man (well, and the younger man too of course). then once i saw the oldest immortal (with capital letters, even, i think), and i completely lost suspension of disbelief and had to take a long break to chortle to myself.

i've noticed that the deep southern dialect has a lot more in common with british english, particularly ... in some archaic ways... than most modern american dialects. it also preserves a lot more of the kind of stuff that is usually only in common usage in rural areas, which is something that scots and irish english also both do (uh, from what i've seen in books, movies, fanfic...).

Me neither

I think lots of regional dialects get to hang on to really fun archaic syntax and the words that time forgot.

But yeah, what I know of the deep southern dialect comes from books, movies, fanfi... :D

midwestern and new england and west coast english, for the most part, are pretty bland and modernised. or so it seems to me. ...i still (mostly) prefer them though.

I heard Vermont had some original phrasing.

I don't really have a preference, I just enjoy language. All sorts :)

yeah, the further north bits have some weirdness, as do the rural northern bits. it always strikes me as possible leftovers from the original european immigrant populations that filled the area.
