9 May 2002 05:46 pmhey, my advisor ok'd the list of words, so now i just pick which ones i want and make up the scales.
the example for mother asks for a rating of 1(first word) to 7(second), 4 being neutral to the criteria, with the following pairs of connotations/qualities:
good/bad, kind/cruel, weak/strong, beautiful/ugly, nice/awful, active/passive, positive/negative, heavenly/hellish, reputable/disreputable.
i plan to just modify those scales and the question. for instance, what i want is how the word makes you interpret the other person's intent.
the list, to be narrowed down to somewhere around 4-6, hopefully in related groups to help find shadings of meaning:
*shrug*, *sigh*
"hmmm," "hahaha," "um," "oh"
"gah," "meh," "blah" and "bleh"
"eep" and "meep"
