peeeeectures of the new flat
16 Oct 2005 03:19 pmwax's brother came over with his camera and took a bunch of pictures of our flat.

couch pets and one actual pet adorn the couch.

the office area, with wax in her chair and leena in cim's chair.

cim doing battle with the door to the balcony; the dog eating dog food, which he has carried from the kitchen expressly for the purpose of eating on the livingroom carpet.

wide shot of the kitchen.

the bedroom. as wax said, there was supposed to be a bed in here. but there isn't one.
and here is the first. the first batch has all marre's arteestic endeavors like the closeup of catfood bowls. (no really! it's pretty!) but it also has the closeups of the tchotchke shelves which is why i want to

you've gotta admit the catfood bowls are pretty cool.

the foreground of the tchotchke shelf contains the glass votive candles we used for a menorah last chunnukah, when we didn't have mine. behind them from left to right we have my real name written in mayan characters, a handmade present from my beloved frankrike (which is to say frank & enrique, friends of the family) back home; my photo album, with 2-yr-old cim and cim's daddy on the cover; the sparkly green teapot card
kmazzy sent me last year; and a real musgrave dragon greeting card that my mom gave me when i was four.

left to right: my real menorah; me and
kitten_head, taken ca. 2000; baby
wax_jism; she-ra; me and
hollsk at her wedding (with a gary oldman sticker from
perhael propped up in front).
actual video footage of lily forthcoming later.

Date: 16 Oct 2005 06:01 pm (UTC)and it's very cosy. it's funny that tiny spaces are too cramped to be cosy but with a bit more space (65 m2)... it's like magic. our bedroom is pretty sad in comparison though. but once we have a bed and can put up posters it will improve, i'm sure. i hope.

Date: 16 Oct 2005 06:12 pm (UTC)the cats love ivar too. the open ends mean the bookshelves are one giant kitty jungle gym. little ear tips are frequently to be seen above the top of a line of paperbacks.

Date: 16 Oct 2005 06:15 pm (UTC)i wasn't fond of the unfinished pine look when i moved here--my parents' house in alabama has a lot of wood, mostly stained, and i've got a strong preference for dark. but it's grown on me and now i love it and am all in favour of using unfinished pine all over. i want pine chairs and table in the kitchen, pine in the bedroom! the only 'scandinavian' element i'd change is the white walls. i loathe white walls.
