i feel a bit silly about it, but i kind of want to write--or read--a literary analysis type of paper about the parallel between ryoma and kaidoh throughout the series. it would be even sillier since i haven't seen past episode 72 yet. but it would be hard to do, because as intellectually interesting as it is i still tend to go "ahahah, and they're so cute when ryoma mocks him!" observe four significant caps from this episode.

72 72 72 72
1. ryoma really LIKES toast. 2. eiji is completely on crack and his idea of an inspirational story involves a little boy dying of a cold. or a broken heart. or both. 3. kaidoh's "wtf is senpai smoking?" face is incredibly eloquent. 4. kaidoh is really cute.

and... it's karupin! well, not really, but i was illustrating for [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism how sacred birmans are much more elegant than himalayans and that picture just came up. it's the pose and the facial expression, i think.

i am so distressingly distracted. i cannot focus at all to write, but i'm feeling itchy with the need to do so again. gah! i just need a sentence. one sentence and then shrinefic is mine.

I agree with you completely that sacred birmans are much more elegant than Himalayans. I think it's in the position of the nose. The nose of the himalayan is much too high on its face, giving it a puggish look. So I shall cheat and believe Karupin is a himalayan that looks more like a sacred birman I can so see Ryoma cooing over that last sacred birman picture and having portraits taken of Karupin.

yeah, i really don't like the persian type face, which is what himalayans seem to have. and i can buy that karupin is a birman, with a bit of stretching. they have very round eyes--the last one like you said and the "it's karupin" one especially.

hahahaöl aösdjfasödkj portraits taken of karupin. i always wonder about these studio portraits. you need a pretty calm cat, right? i mean you give it a blue velvet covered box and set it down and it's just like "hmm, okay" and poses? i've never had a cat who would do that.

I think Karupin would do it for Ryoma if he asked nicely. :D
Unless Karupin got all lonely and squirmy, jumped into Ryoma's arms and insisted that Ryoma hold him.

Oh and this (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0763174300.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg) Himalayan is very fat and cute. I wouldn't mind if Karupin looked like this.

hee, yes, the facial markings on that one reduce the effect of the pug nose. and the nose is also less wrinkled and ugly.

... and yeah, some longhairs are very laidback and mellow. and karupin is very much a person-oriented cat (could be the siamese blood--he seems to act a little siamese). now i'm imagining him being like "hmmm... ryoma put me here... okay!" and obediently tilting his little face up. ♥
