i've lost all my icons and images because i was keeping them on the network drive at school, and i forgot to save them before i left--goddammit. am on a new-icon-making spree. not very happy, though. *grumblegrumble* elfiepike had some icons that were cool--j-rock, i suppose, but then, i don't really know much about japanese pop culture, and goth makeup scares me (mayumi would say, shaking her head: "tokyo girls"). so downloaded geisha images, which appeal to me much more. and thinking she-ra thoughts to what end i don't know. my dad read the linguistics paper, and he said he could tell it was written in a hurry. this just makes me tired, more than anything. i knew that, i did. meh.

anyone want to rec me some qui/obi other than lilith sedai, pumpkin, 'chelle, anne higgins, ladonna king (all those ones that everyone who reads any of it is required by law to have read already)?

i went out for icecream with guinevere33, the best friend. haven't seen her since christmas. was v/ nice. also another guy was there, random classmate (ok, just not wonderful). i was social for two hours without too much effort. okay, it was a lot. but it didn't kill me. and, hm. why do i have to be sick on the icecream day? fuck. i want sushi, too. going to maimi tomorrow evening, and if i'm cut off from internet until wednesday (read "internet" as "livejournal" and "my weakness" and "my cohort") i won't be responsible for the consequences. also, this is something of a gip. as the user icon, we have michael whelan's "the summer queen," cover of the novel by the same name by joan d vinge (i think?). below, we have first menolly and beauty from the cover of mccaffrey's dragonsong, and next marilyn monroe.

the evil unfairness of the world

1. there's a girl at our church who is the spawn of satan. at 2, she stole all the fisher price toys in the nursery to prevent the other kids from playing with them on a weekly basis. at 6 and 8, she tried to take back presents she'd given other kids for their birthdays AT THE PARTIES, and bought new toys every day to make my sister jealous, and brought candy to church to eat in front of kids so she could tell them they couldn't have it.

2. her dad is ALWAYS there, and his reaction is always sort of, "sara, honey, i don't think that's a very good idea." by always i mean "one in a hundred times," as the rest he says/does nothing.

3. he's an astronomer. he's going to finland.

4. my favorite little sarcastic mopey adorable crumpet is in finland.

i'm just going to throw a tantrum. for the next several days or weeks intermittently. don't be surprised if i randomly start kicking things.

ok, so, i got two new aim screen names, cimthing and cimness, but i haven't decided which one i want to use yet. so my dad is home; we're leaving in just a bit for miami, and i have to eat and shower and dress and pack my laptop (if i want to have it with me), so i suppose some movement is in order. bleh. i feel like lounging in bed all day and virtually snuggling wax. who deserves it. in either the good or bad sense, not sure. perhaps both, at various times. o.O
