the dream of needle phobia and freakiness

i had a very odd dream. first of all, i was taking slate and his insuline somewhere else to give him a shot, and then i was with my dad at a conference center place, in a hotel, only it was really a school, and i was registering for a creative writing class. actually, now i think of it, there was a lot of reading going on too--the professor (a skinny guy with a british accent) and other students were advising me quite seriously that "porn" was one of the best reading materials for this class. i was obviously really enthusiastic ("this means i can write slash! and read it!") and i was attempting to explain to my dad the positive qualities of it. ("but romance is the perfect place to develop writing skills because it's just slightly limited, and--.")

going back to bed and then i shall attempt to write. i had some writing notes in here on saturday, or something, but the pages won't load. little fuckers. maybe when i wake up. or maybe i can write without notes--we'll see. o.O

my stomach is upset for no reason and we're having cute gay couple to dinner tonight. life is not fair. ow. ow. ::sniffle::

it was my mom's idea that i get moonbeam (fat cat) and perry (cutest dog ever) at the vet on my way to get my dad from work at 4, and then go to the drugstore for my sister's claritin prescription. so at 3:30 i asked her about this plan (she had neglected to tell me, and i had to hear it from my dad). it took a few minutes, but i eventually found out that she didn't know how much money was in her checking account. there turned out to be plenty, after she went to retrieve her purse from the car, so the expedition commenced. i left the medicine at the vet's, the dog whined all the way across town and the cat peed in the carrier. when we got home, i sprayed her with the hose while still in the carrier. this may have been the first human-given bath she's had in her life (she's 11). meanwhile, she weighs more than both the kittens put together (19 lbs, and the kittens are really not kittens; they're five).

i did write nearly a page today, which is good, because now my stomach hurts too much for writing. owowow. ::grr::

my stomach took only rice and a plain tortilla at dinner as a peace offering, and thus allowed me to get away with some exotic guacamole (from the adorable gay guys) and some green tea icecream (experimental, made by my mom). the conversation went rapidly downhill and i was bored, so even though our other guests are still here, i've snuck out to update. which is sort of sad when you think of it. oooh! exciting! updating my journal! ...anyway, i started reading driftglass by the incomparable samuel delany, and it's a collection of short stories. very cute. he does hard/soft sf like no one else.
