the, um. thingy. the first draft is done and sent off, and now we can be finished-like. we missed some essential plot point in this film, but that's okay because it's like soap opera!wide sargasso sea on crack. (even more crack, that is. richard e grant violently kissed ewan 'naked' mcgregor in a kinky manner, though, so, you know. also mcgregor's accent? bwahahah.) (ewan was not actually naked at the time.) (wax thinks wss was on its very own crack. dude, no, it's not crack, it's OPIUM! these are very fine distinctions.)

so i spent all afternoon saving the text of sunbeam's stories: two p/q, a kirk/chekov, two random doctor ff pieces, two enterprise, and a small amount of k/s including the infamous necrophilia!romances (interested yet, ellen?). i have received permission to proceed and she's offered to email me the rest of the kinky outpourings of her fevered imagination, and i've agreed to format them. have made a sally towards talking her into lj-land too! but who knows whether that will work. she claims not to understand electricity.

wax does NOT approve of ewan's fondness for eighties feathered hairdos. in other news, i do not have it in me to be truly fanatic about anything. [livejournal.com profile] lido_kitty wins the tatu prize. but just remember, when she's on mtv telling us their biographies, that i had heard of them last summer thanks to bazooka boy.*

ahahahahah this girl is like drusilla. what is the name of this girl? serpent's kiss or keep the something flying. i want an icon of her! she is like drusilla only CREEPIER and with more authentic period costume. and more ringlets. and she's also like the girl from wss, of course. she's a creepy dark magic practitioner who's totally nuts. i want her to ritually kill ewan mcgregor and her dad.

*if you seriously want to know we can go over the story again, but let's say 1. he's creepy and 2. he's the reason i have buddies-only security on im.

haha. this movie just keeps getting better.

for better read more nonsensical.

but that's good!

it's a happy ending! now she doesn't need the psycho book. they will live happily ever after. and be psycho magic workers WITHOUT the book.

update on the progress of the epic fic of angst doom through the percolating brain of the beta. people send [livejournal.com profile] mamahooch flowers. she totally deserves them. and it looks like she could use cash too. whoops, we're broke!

edit. and, like, had veeery good sleep last night--oddly enough. the trick seems to be to wear oneself out and then take a nap of less than an hour at bedtime, wake up again, and stay up till 3, sleeping for only about seven hours. also there was lots of high-quality cuddling. i dunno. maybe wax is getting more used to it. maybe i am. but it was less thrashy and more cuddly and she was warm and snuggly and i didn't try to suffocate myself by burying my face in her back. nice. was nice.

1. she-ra was my childhood superhero. i went to school dressed as her.

2. i did ask for a horse and not get it, but mostly i'm one spoiled brat. cannot remember ever seriously wanting anything and being denied.

3. japan is the furthest from home i've been. finland's about two thirds as far.

4. i've always wanted to read more, and know more languages, than i do--no matter how much i've read and how many i know, not to imply that that's a great deal or a great many.

5. wax works, i save sunbeam's stories and work on a story page for her, then we go into turku to visit [livejournal.com profile] mece and meet up with some wax high school friends (...) and do some shopping. on the list: Something Cool for mom, some finnish language rock for dad, either tatu or a hat for [livejournal.com profile] guinevere33 and a tatu poster for [livejournal.com profile] lido_kitty.

a soldier's story has 22 parts! dude. i think i'll let her send it to me. yeah.

am back to 1999 and suspect that there is no older fic. time for formatting? hm. i think i will take a nap. or i could download psp brushes for wax's computer. i've pretty thoroughly moved in, after all. heh.

on over at [livejournal.com profile] sparkly_girls they've got two versions of 'ya shosla s uma,' the russian version of 'all the things she said'--and they have one misspelled and listed as ATTSS and the other listed as 'this is not enough,' which is the direct translation (picture lena screaming, with one arm sticking out, drenched to the skin. mm, that was a nice icon).

what's up with ENCOURAGING the vecchio-centrists? i mean, they don't appear to even need that much encouragement. i've never had any trouble finding it and i've not even looked. there just isn't as much of it. yeah, there should be smiting. ohhhh yes. ::yawn:: if i could be bothered.... freaks.

ooh, björk growling 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaahnnie oakley.' teehee. björk is so very very adorable.

trek site updated. the only links that are still broken are to killa, syn ferguson and morgan le fay--killa moved (anyone know where? ellen?) and took syn with her, and morgan's story was never on ascem. other than that the recs page makeover is complete--broken links are fixed, and i've even added a goldmine of a handful of long-lost liz ellington stories. they're not the best, but i'm quite enamored of them personally. consider them classics. sunbeam recs are soon to come--hers isn't so simple, as i've got a subdirectory's worth to format and an index page to code. go, frolic, little sycophants!

poirot happened to be on--the RIGHT poirot, the adorable one. we watched it and squeed, and now she is watching sports news just to frustrate me because i am too helpless to go get a snack by myself. except for that last part. anyway, i believe there actually isn't any poirot slash, unfortunately--have just spent a bit looking. too bad! it ought to be cute. although it would probably be bad, come to think of it. perhaps it's just as well. poirot and hastings are awfully cute, though.

edit: i sound like i'm high or something. what is with that post? rm. not that i know what being high is like.
