oh, yay. lj is back up so i can post the 1,600,043 icons i made last night!

in other news, wax is very cute, and i made a st patrick's day icon last night even though i have nothing to do with ireland other than, as far as i know, one great-great-great-great grandparent, or something like that. and also it's nowhere near march 17.

as i was telling claire, it's an illness.

how has everyone been while i was locked away from my princessly domain?

[livejournal.com profile] hollsk, do you still have the copy of the original balrog's angels icon?

i found that someone of whom i was mildly fond in trekdom has an lj, and her website is not dead: she just got her own server. she even goes by the same name she had when a trek queen, ie, [livejournal.com profile] mecurtin; but she's now in smallville (eeeek #1) and apparently looks down her nose at fandom wank (eek #2--although admittedly i'm getting tired of kerfluffles myself, but that's not the same thing at all, you know. i adore it on PRINCIPLE. and i certainly don't trust smallville queens on principle, cause as far as i know there's only one i don't hate, and most of the fandom is a writhing seething mass of self-important obnoxious asses).

hmmm. should i friend her, or not? am anxious to increase people who know what tos slash is around me, but her posts seem to be about cooking and about clark's chest or something.

hmmm.

i think not, but i'll look into it again in a couple of days.

Part of the trouble, of course, is that f_wers do pretend to be "witty", and one person's witty is another person's sophmoric asshattery. can you really said to be pretending to be something that's a relative quality defined by the opinions of other people? like, say, beautiful. or stupid.

two-inch heels are astonishingly easy to get used to.

you really wouldn't believe the cuteness of my outfit today. it's wasted on me. with, you know, dyed hair, and stuff. although, funny thing: the patchiness of the chocolate brown dye i used on the bleached red has the effect of making my hair look like it's had a really expensive dye job, like julia roberts' or something. it's not unattractive, but too red for my tastes--my natural brunette is the same value, but a more neutral tone.

MY STUDY ABROAD PETITION HAS BEEN ACCEPTED! I'M GOING TO FINLAND!

dear universe: ... <3 cim (& claire, natch)
cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (love)
first, some closet-cleaning! a rather random assortment of shareable-customizable icons; don't ask, just leave me a little note, if you please. ta!

as you can see, there's a few from a pre-raphaelite nymphet, sort of a female cupid; some cate blanchett; and some shoes. then there's some limes, christina aguilera's ass, chloe sevigny, and a vintage lingerie ad.

blahblah )
cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (simple)
she's just absolutely glorious, isn't she?

1,2, &3:

a bunch more from the same picture as #1 inside. and as #2 and #3, come to think of it. but #1 is especially cool. like REALLY cool. i want that dress, yo.

take, share, leave a little note. customizable! i have SO much time to kill it's not even funny.

la la la lalalala )

okay, so i take a nap, eat lunch, get passport photos taken and drop off the two applications i've finished. sounds good. my hands are freezing. if i were further awake i could probably figure a way to be online in two hours when holls is supposed to show up; maybe if i sleep that long! and i could pop on to see her and wax before i run errands. eesh, my hands are cold. i can run my errands after i get lillian at aftercare, actually, i 'spect. i mean, there i'll be, out. i could take her to the mall or something. mcdonald's. yeah. sister bonding. speaking of which, she got the cutest little haircut. well, perhaps not the CUTEST: i feel sure she could be CUTER, in, say, one of those anne heche pixies. but it's impossible to make her not cute. in that respect she's rather like me. ::smirk::

oooh, time to restart. ::walks away humming 'you're makin me high'*: an' again, an' again...::

*toni braxton. about masturbation. her preacher father is just glad she's so talented and enjoys all her songs.**

**paraphrase, but not an inaccurate one.

the original four-square icon. the fad is over now, but i cling stubbornly.

re-gip!

watch out for sally, yo. she'll bust a cap on yo ass.

cause a ghetto balrog is a real balrog.

this is a real gip, not a re. from the victoria's secret catalog. but i only went there to make icons. and look at the underwear. the COTTON underwear. i may have gotten slightly sidetracked, however. anyway, here it is. a gip. i just adore this shirt. charming, innit?

vince whatsisname. inherently slashy. yep, yep.

i think everyone born between 1920 and 1950 is congenitally dorky. perhaps there was something in the water or the air.

edit: new favorite font, there. it's called foxjump. i highly recommend it!

1. What is your most prized material possession?
[livejournal.com profile] wax_jism. oh, dammit. she's not a material possesion. my laptop, alianora.
2. What item, that you currently own, have you had the longest?
i have a teddy bear that was given to me on the occasion of my birth. have some heirlooms which are older, but haven't been mine their whole lives.
3. Are you a packrat?
rather.
4. Do you prefer a spic-and-span clean house? Or is some clutter necessary to avoid the appearance of a museum?
i like a small amount of clutter. small, though. the japanese ideal of decorating, rather. only not really. nevermind.
5. Do the rooms in your house have a theme? Or is it a mixture of knick-knacks here and there?
not really a THEME, per se, but as i decorate my parents' house i'm striving to cling to, besides a theme for each room, a sort of period appropriateness for the time the house was built and/or a farmhouse appropriateness, which is what the house was built as. i'm the interior designer in the family. shut up, i'm good.

edit:bast's getting better--i could almost rec that one. not quite, mind. (fraser/ray k, r or nc-17, not sure which. predictable as always but getting better. as i said.)

this quicker than a ray of light song is sort of catchy, actually.

edit 2: alright. someone link me to fandom wank's new home.

the authoress was just saying impressively to her companion:

"--ever know a sincere emotion to express itself in a subordinate clause?"

"joyce has freed us from the superstition of syntax," agreed the curly man.

"scenes which make emotional history," said miss heath-waruburton, "should ideally be expressed in a series of animal squeals."

"the d.h. lawrence formula," said the other.

"or even dada," said the authoress.

"we need a new notation," said the curly-haired man, putting both elbows on the table and knocking wimsey's bread on to the floor. "have you heard robert snoates recite his own ferse to the tom-tom and the penny whistle?"

lord peter with difficulty detached his atthention from this fascinating discussion to find that miss tarrant was saying something about mary.

i'm annoyed.

i bought five pairs of underwear at victoria's secret today, and one of them was red with a sparkly heart on it.

lillian: are we EVER going to eat dinner?
daddy: yes. i thought we might eat out, actually.
lillian: can we go to the peking buffet?!???!!!
daddy: did you [chore]?
lillian: ::scornfully:: yeeEEEeeSSSSsss.
daddy: that's it. not with you in this mood.

so of course, after fifteen minutes
(daddy: when you said that you would be willing to go to the p.b. but would rather stay at home, what did you mean?
me: ...
daddy: did you mean you would hate it but i could drag you there?

me: of course, it IS raining.
lillian: YEAH, but you only have to walk in it for LIKE TWO SECONDS.)
it emerged that we were going to go after all. dad parked at the back of the Ghetto Buffet because they had cleverly camouflaged it as the front. my velveteen jacket didn't dry the whole time we were in there. also, the eggrolls appeared to be filled with hamburger, and the fried rice was extremely. um. well, i can't think of an adjective. the three all you can eat meals were worth about $4 total, which is what they cost.

you're supposed to list all your courses for the year... in five blanks. uh, great. did i pick too many? ^.~
