in other news, angel sounds a lot more entertaining as a long long series of recaps, because, like buffy, when you're actually watching it it's more gradual and believable, whereas it sounds like one big parody of, um, something, if you're just having it described to you in general terms. but it does not sound like anything i'd care to watch in those terms. whereas actually, until i overdosed, i was liking it fine.

wow, today was a rough one for my inbox.

in hilarious news, i was talking to my minion hugsnkisses_ about kerfluffles and fandom wank and a rather stale one came up, so i posted a link to the post, which was archived in the journal of everyone's favorite undone (the 27th, natch). along with lots of apologies, back-scratching and charming attempts to sound All Grown Up. according to darthtall, that entry has been friends-locked since i first posted after lunch.

must remember to check this when i return from... ::checks big errand-meting clock in the sky:: ... target and raine's house.

in other news, if hollsk's water breaks, at least she will not have been at the oscars when it happened!

getting to finland in the first place

so the people in finland are being very cooperative, thus far, except for the first one who i'm convinced was only pretending to speak english; someone named tarja malinen (which i tell you because i think it's about the spiffiest name i've heard in two point five weeks at least) has explained everything nicely. i emailed two separate people in my own college's financial aid office, politely asking clarification of the rather urgent point of when exactly i'm going to have to fill out forms to get financial aid. as you may imagine this is rather important and may prevent me from going. as it's their job in that office to handle problems with financial aid and that's what this is, and we're paying the damned snotty school upwards of $37,000 a year (well, no, that's tuition but it's really more like $14 or $17 grand that the parents have to pay, in loans at the rate of a few hundred a month)--you'd think they could answer the question.

apparently you would be wrong. i'll have to dig about through the website again and try someone else, i guess.
