i had the cutest dream.
12 Mar 2003 06:59 ammy family and i were living in a little cottage on the bank of a river, rather the kind of thing you expect to see remodeled on hgtv. and my favorite aunt and uncle (who make their much-awaited appearance this coming saturday) were there, of course, visiting. next door to us lived a little old blind lady from our church, the former doyenne of the teen group when i was in it, and she was riding about the sidewalk on a little tricycle [miriam]. on the other side were the church piano player (a medical technologist) and his wife, a composer/music teacher, who are unaccountably very fond of me and have a child one year older than
cuddlepint who looks almost exactly like daniel radcliffe [mike, mary, and zach].
some sort of church festival was unsurprisingly going on on the banks of the river. (no, really, it was unsurprising; my church is always doing something of this unbelievably twee nature.)
and wax was staying with me. it was early spring, just about like it is now but a bit later and springier, more like easter-time.
well, i woke up, and went in the kitchen (which was done in brilliant ceramic tiles, and bright orange and blue and yellow, just adorable). cherrie and joe were there and so was mary with zach, and my parents, bustling around the way they always do on vacation mornings, making coffee and biscuits, radio [nsync] rockin [/nsync] and everyone yelling over it. and they insisted that i go outside and babysit some babies, which i determined to do rather than disobey because cherrie and joe make me cheeful, and wax was sleepy and impossible to wake up, and i had been hot and restless in bed.
so i went out with zach and babysat him for a while, and we wandered through a bit of forest and such and i somehow managed to pick up a small turtle and several other children, including the Hell Child, little sister of one of lillian's former best friends. then we went in the back of a church straight out of dorothy sayers, and left it again, and i left him with his mother, i think, and went home, more than anxious to see wax! who naturally was still asleep and immovable. (she just said 'mmnh.') so i went back out and ended up wandering around the riverbank, successfully dodging the Hell Child. i think there was a maypole. it was all very festive. there was some intrigue, which made me run, and when i got home again i was sweaty all over, but my skin was chilly, the way one gets in spring and fall. i burst into my room all out of breath and pushed the covers off wax, who was too sleepy to complain except about the fact that i was cold. i assured her that in fact, i was hot, and was trying to persuade her to get up and take a shower with me when i woke up.
okay, it sounds sort of... blah. but she was too cute and it was extremely sweet and warm and fuzzy.
