lotr rps kerfluffdate: reality vs the domlijah!sean+prdevil haters. now THAT is wank.

there's been a big blow-up of hate for sean astin in certain corners of livejournal, apparently, because of some rumors on datalounge that he doesn't support domlijah's imaginary one true quest for out of the closetness vs. the pr devils. or, okay, no one can exactly trace WHY the sean hate, but it's definitely somewhere in datalounge, and they're definitely claiming he's anti-domlijah.

the not-so-amusing news is that now people who defend sean are trolls, or With The PR, or both.

i have to say, there were certain scary factions in lotr rps from the beginning, but early on, the greatest of my fears was a sort of uncomfortableness with the seanlij shippers. man, this has got them beat all to hell--not that the domlij color-coding didn't, but this wins hands-down on all fronts. as far as i'm aware, none of the seanlij proponents were anything but in touch with reality, except, of course, for msa, who quit that camp soon enough when something more ripe for cult-creation came along.

whew. would life be nearly so entertaining without fandom wank?
