i'd actually gotten pretty far, made a layout and coded a draft and everything, for the richard dean anderson/michael shanks site archive. and [livejournal.com profile] southpaw526 thought of a name. it's going to be '20-year itch' (rda b. 1950, ms b. 1970).

i watched some more qaf and got to the end of the dvd, which was a dance scene, and found myself very much in a dancing mood. in fact, i've been rather energetic and bouncy all day today, not to say predatory. it's odd, indeed, because i spent most of the morning cleaning up various disgusting cat messes and then doing a lot of dishes, but i even considered going to the park (but scratch that, cause it was VERY hot).

i have the irrational feeling that you can't dance in a cut up toddler's t-shirt and giant flannel pants. i thought briefly of the Little Black Slip Dress o' Sex, but i left that in finland because i really don't have much use for it when wax is not around. i was perhaps overly optimistic about when i'd be able to get back there, though.

the challenge was mine this time.

michael shanks worked through five seasons of stargate before he walked in season six due to creative differences with the writers. what happened when rick, co-star and executive producer, asked him to come back?

oh my god. i'm still awake. reading this, the same novel as before.

despite the extremely irritating bullshit with james, it's really astoundingly good, possibly the best characterization of snape i've come across.

i'm intrigued by the hints and rumors of doom surrounding the end of if you are prepared, which i've been going through, but it's losing me fast. i don't think i can stand to read the ending. there are so many elements essential to a really complete, outstanding story. it's practically impossible to find a snape as believable as cybele's in the first two parts of this story. her command of his voice and viewpoint i found nearly flawless. unfortunately, around the time the plot started shuffling in circles talking to itself and seeing things, the characterization not entirely coincidentally started slipping also. i just can't maintain suspension of disbelief any longer. and on the other hand, i can't not give this a high recommendation. perhaps i'll just rec the first parts. ::sigh::
