10 Mar 2004 08:41 pmi got the job! even though i gather they're actually *over*staffed, they liked me. my dorky enthusiasm for the grocery store came through, and that's what they were looking for.
in celebration, bought avocados--four, but jenny bought *eight.* i have only eaten one so far. had a dizzyingly happy lunchtime. jenny was making fun of me because i was singing 'fit as a fiddle' and 'good morning' and tap dancing* around the yard.
then we went to a thrift store and i found a madeleine l'engle book for twenty-five cents. can't remember the title, but i figure i can mail it to
ninglor or some other l'engle fan even if i don't like it, at that price. also, a lord peter wimsey mystery that i hadn't read, and a children's novella for perrin from the 1970s--the hoboken chicken emergency by daniel m. pinkwater.
*tap dancing like a slow child without feet, that is. i don't actually know how to tap dance, i just watch singin in the rain a lot.
