i was all set to mail my christmas [post]cards on the way home from LAST COURSE MEETING this morning when i realized that i didn't have the money.  that's right!  less than two bucks in my wallet!

(this bit is actually pretty factually accurate, unlike the rest of the fic, which is just wickedly spot-on lots of cliches and other assorted phenomena.  but this is still my favorite.)
