It's Less Morally Reprehensible to Ask Permission Than to Purposely Misbehave, Then Ask Forgiveness

You know, if you keep having to write in your badfic that something was just too unbelievable to happen or words to that effect, it might be wise to heed your own words, and consider that, in fact, perhaps it just was too unbelievable to happen and you should not have made it happen in your badfic.

I think this is one of the million corollaries to The If-You-Have-to-Preface-It-With-"I-Know-I-Shouldn't-Be-Saying-This-But"-Then-Don't-Fucking-Say-It Rule.
