Come on, they're like, ten inch-high tents of nubbly plush fur with googly eyes. They don't even have any prehensile appendages. They don't do anything except say "Yip". But I keep running across mentions of this. Apparently at least a few people out there think they're creepy! (I always thought they were cute.)

Wax needs it to be PITCH-DARK in the bedroom during the day sometimes because she works the night shift, and we've had these heavy navy blue curtains for a long time. The only problem is that we both dislike blue. A few days ago I finally sewed up some nice 2m lengths of fabric from Ikea (each one cost about 9 euros, which is good) and put a nice pair of yellow ones over them. The whole room is transformed - it looks like the curtains are there on purpose - it's light and cheerful!

Okay. So... yesterday I tried to register a second delicious account for use with people who don't know my fandom name. And the email to my Real Life email address didn't arrive. And suddenly I remembered approximately 10 other emails to that gmail address that I should have gotten, and didn't get, over the last year, including one just last week.

The thing is, in the Account Settings in gmail, you can easily register a second account and link it to your primary account. Then, when you send messages, you can choose which one to display from a drop-down menu. This I set up a year ago. What I didn't realise is that while that automatically links the two accounts... it doesn't automatically link the INBOXES. Yes. Apparently, gmail is under the impression that there's a big demand for sending email from an email address, and then NOT HAVING THE REPLIES TO YOUR SENT MAIL COME BACK TO YOU (in the same place, that is - you can still get them by logging out of your account and then logging in as the second name). Well, I ask you. Why didn't that occur to me? Because it wasn't in the directions for linking the accounts and WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO DO THAT.

Anyway, I went looking, and found out I had to enable POP access while logged in as the secondary account, then set the primary account to collect the mail via pop in addition to the steps I had to go through a year ago, to show them both belonging to me in the first place.

UGH. I went back and found answers from my old high school friends whom I met last summer at the wedding - answers I had no idea of, which I therefore didn't answer. -_- So the upshot was that I added my second gmail account to my chat program's list of accounts. Since I have the ability to send messages to myself, there are now two copies of me on my buddy list at all times.

So, in the movie Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow plays Pepper Potts, his secretary. He's like a multi-million dollar businessman and she's a SUPER secretary. She does everything efficiently and she dresses in classy blue and grey and black, knee-length pencil skirts, suits, and Louboutin heels.

[Poll #1212697]

She's also got strawberry-blonde hair in the film and minimal makeup designed to look nude revealing charming freckles. Her clothes are not revealing; her hair is dressed down and wavy (no doubt artfully, but designed to look artless) or in simple twists, that kind of thing.

[Poll #1212698]

So the word is that somewhere out there is a story where someone gives Pepper - same character, remember - a pair of six-inch stacked heels. In red patent leather.

[Poll #1212699]

Nothing was said about a platform, mind. Six inch heels with a 2" platform, for example, would be approximately like 4" heels and therefore nothing that your average chav, stripper, Imelda Marcos, or Victoria Beckham wouldn't wear to the mall/baseball game/strip club. Without a platform, though - that's fetishwear, period. (Images for illustration: six inch stilettos with 1" platform; mj peep-toe stilettos with 2" platform; 6" patent stilettos without platform.)
