...to express my attitude towards today's forthcoming lecture on types of research strategies, or more specifically my suspicion that the lecture will be full of one really really long rambly (though not uninteresting) tangent having to do with some study, somewhere, that professor saruman found so utterly fascinating that he couldn't resist explaining it in detail, drawing graphs on the board and enumerating the author's entire vocabulary of operational definitions. because they were so cool, see. oh, professor saruman... at least you aren't as flaky as the philosopher.

ps: shiroi_chi is home ♥! what's the schedule this week? anybody want to have lunch with me on thursday?

omg that is cruel and unusual. uhhhhhhhh. yeah. well. i don't really know what the different buildings on that hill are. i walk the way i went with you that time we were talking about awkward boy fairly frequently. there's a couple of kind of courtyardish places in there that i could probably recognise...

plus i'm still toying with the idea of writing my thesis eventually on fandom - although i'm not sure what part of it. so it might be good, you know, since this is the only place i could reasonably expect to hear any other academic presentations about it...

Well, mine is the only fandom-related speech in the conference. And I'm in the only English workgroup - there are some Swedish speeches too, but mostly this year seems to be dominantly Finnish. And also not terribly interesting. Last year was much cooler, I think.
