cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (10000 kilowatts of stardust)

Note.: This story is a sequel to another that I never finished to my satisfaction. The earlier story simply laid out the background, which should be clear from context.

other potential notes along the same lines (which i am told aeslis, at least, would appreciate; she urges me to post them):

  • "note: this story has a sequel which i'm not planning to ever write, and which would be so terrible if i did anyway that you should be glad i didn't. but i won't tell you what it was about."

  • "note: this story was originally conceived as part of a multimedia art project to consist of a three-dimensional book along with music. however, the book was never made and i didn't write the music, not having any musical ability."

  • "note: when i showed this story to my neighbour, she thought it should be formatted in a very small script font with an aged paper effect and decorated like an illuminated manuscript, but the example sketches she showed me were pretty bad, so i've just used black and white and verdana."

illuminated! oh, that sounds like it would be really fun, like. not actually illuminating something, too much effort--but using photoshop & screencaps and such. :D

so you mean like... a scrapbook page or something. i think with photoshop it'd end up looking more like a newspaper article or a collage than an illuminated manuscript.

no, i mean like an illuminated manuscript, except that it would be way too much effort. (you'd have the redraw all the pictures at the very least.)

it's a lot faster to hand-draw something than to make it look hand-drawn in photoshop. the old-fashioned way would be more expedient and also probably better-looking.

the long answer was too involved, so i'll go with the short one: yes, obviously. it would be more fun on a computer, though. (for me.)

Those were real? Huh. Maybe those writers had compulsive typing disorder. Or were some of those legendary Shakespeare-writing apes.
