I suppose it could be worse.
25 Feb 2007 10:23 amDid I ever mention the longing for new shoes? In my soul. That one. A sad longing for shoes, because expensive shoes are somehow more attractive than others.
See? It's like an instinct, drawing me unerringly to expensive shoes and pretentious brands, and making me like them regardless of how bizarre they look! Also, dude, what? I even like these.
Saw Clerks 2 last night, finally. We ♥ Kevin Smith. So does Brother Windows, although I think his buddy (who hadn't seen a single Kevin Smith film before!) was less impressed. I've reflected a little, and I think it's a good thing the gayness in those movies is so sweet and funny and, generally speaking, already satisfying - because there's very little on offer in the way of fandom out there. Although
julad's Clerks piece from last yuletide was exemplary.
[cimorene111 and
shiroi_chi are in the shoe department of giant slightly tacky department store Halonen for the purpose of mocking things.]
cimorene111: Wtf?
shiroi_chi: Wtf? Those are incredibly fugly.
cimorene111: What is even going on?
shiroi_chi: What is that toe?
cimorene111: What does this button even do?
shiroi_chi: It's completely useless.
cimorene111: But I guess it's not that bad.
shiroi_chi: ...It's not?
cimorene111: ...Actually it's kind of cute.
shiroi_chi: Cute?
cimorene111: Like a shoe that... a gnome would wear or something.
[shiroi_chi gives up on humouring
cimorene111 and cracks up.]
cimorene111: Actually, I want these shoes! What are they? ...Oh great. They're Clarks. And they're 90 bucks.
