I'm feeling anxious and kind of bummed to the extent that last night I completely forgot to hang the laundry up out of the washing machine. That is the second time this weekend I've forgotten the laundry overnight, and dudes, the weekend only has three nights. So I'm thinking I should watch a Disney movie. I'm feeling kind of like watching a Disney movie. Or something else that's like, old, and not connected to anything else. Maybe some Poirot or Due South.

I haven't written anything in like three days.

Aki1's boy was brought around on Saturday. Aki hadn't warned him that we have cats so he was sort of sniffling and sneezing the whole time but he was wee, as promised, and the possessor of sweet baby seal eyes. He talks like you California peeps, so I guess Arizona is close enough to California for that. He does that question intonation on all his sentences and his voice is pleasant and tenor but just slightly nasal (despite being an untutored linguistic GENIUS he doesn't have the concept of 'nasal' as regards the general pronunciation of an entire language, which is possibly due to not having been out of America for very long yet except, I guess, for being an exchange student in France? "Are Americans usually nasal?" he said wonderingly).

Kirsten Vangsness of Criminal Minds posted in her blog (among spoiler comments about s3 so don't check it out yourself unless you've girded your loins for the shock and spoilerness) that she gained 12lb over the summer due to pizza. I wonder if she will lose it again, or be squishy and scrumptious in the new season premiere?

Turku people free soon - despite the fact that it's the first week of school? Cause I could totally marathon Criminal Minds. Didn't I hear that [livejournal.com profile] isobell was thinking about that? And sociability might alleviate my anxiety just by getting me out of the house and/or distracted.

Also tomorrow I am going to noobwatch again. Sweet. The little noobs are about the size of normal newborns now, a little bigger. They're four weeks past their due date. And they wear size 65 shirts so we need to get on making their little noob tshirts for them. I forgot to ask what size Carmela's are, though. I'll ask tomorrow.

1. Aki is Wax's #2 friend now that Sofia moved to Helsinki. V is still #1 but he's never around because his girlfriend lives out of town so perhaps he will soon be replaced as well, if Wax gets on the ball and like, feels social. No worries with me, I never make friends.

Ahaa so now not only am I nasal but I'm also Californian? You must be quite the untutored linguist too. ;)

Untutored linguist and untutored linguistic genius are two separate things! I love languages and amass trivia about how they work, I don't absorb them and learn to speak them just from like, osmosis. Until I tried to learn Finnish I was used to being good at foreign language things, you know, back in America where no one can pronounce anything, and also in Japan, because Americans are idiots about Japanese. Now I've been so traumatised by how hard Finnish was that I'd be jealous except I'm never jealous of genius. I'm more a dilettante, actually, cause I took an introductory class or two in linguistics back when I first went to college and now I sneak sociolinguistics textbooks from the Humanities library when I really should be reading other things.

Well in America it's always easy to feel smarter than everyone else. Big fish in small water type of thing, I guess. ;)

Sadly true! But they actually have stupid people here too, weirdly enough.

I'd love to watch some Criminal Minds. I'm not sure if [livejournal.com profile] isobell is seeing this, as she's not on your f-list, but she'll probably hear about it sooner or later. :B

And, uh, I have no real time preference. I'm going home for a few days now, but should be back on Friday.

Are you sure you're not just projecting because you're scared of calling me?

Oh. Huh. Usually people online aren't scared of me! That only happens when I meet them in real life as a matter of course.
