My favourite breeds are the Finnish spitz (http://www.answers.com/Finnish+spitz?cat=technology&gwp=16) and Schipperke (http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-breeds/Schipperke.html). Spitzes have an intelligent, alert look and usually a character to match that. I know our Nelli will be best remembered for her regal air when surveying her kingdom, a.k.a. the backyard.
