Simple shoes is a company making vegan and "eco-friendly" shoes (not all their products are vegan, only some of them; they do have a number of silk, cotton, and hemp-upper products, though). They are cute now, although their inaugural style back in the 90s (anyone else remember the clogs with the rainbow braid trim?) was pretty fugly. Presumably, however, they are comfortable as well as expensive. Green products and fair trade products, of course, always are a bit expensive.

Here are two pairs of t-straps named "Caramel" and "Mistletoe". I have to admit, I find the mutated espadrille styling of the rope sole trim on the bottom pair (and the others in that line) a little strange, but not actually unattractive.

Hi! I friended you for a number of reasons (though what pushed me to finally friend you rather than occasionally wandering by your lj was your posting on Race Fail '09, even if I've been terrible at commenting), so um. First, a hello! No need to friend back!

My actual intended comment, before I realized I was showing up seemingly out of nowhere, though, was thank you for posting a link to vegan shoes. I am delighted just by the company's existence.

Only some of their shoes are vegan, again, so be careful if you are a die-hard vegan! But no problem. You'll find that I post about shoes a lot. It's a hobby. :) And I think I will friend you back if you don't mind. I'm feeling this need for more people around me who share my concerns about fandom, and RaceFail has pushed me over the edge there.

I'm only a vegetarian, but I think these are amazing. Sadly out of my price range, but maybe one day. I've definitely book-marked it to occasionally come back to and stare at covetously.

My friending policy is very open! Come or go as you please. (By which I mean, of course I do not mind.) I definitely agree about wanting to surround myself with people who share similar concerns. I've gotten to the point where I'm starting to carefully read journals before friending, because shared fandoms is no longer a good indicator (and probably never has been when certain topics about which I am very passionate come up) for actual compatibility.
