What's up:
6 Jun 2009 11:52 amNow that Wax's vacation has begun, we've been spending as much time as possible, which is every day, at Ängisbacka renovating the attic. After building some wood panelled walls to cover up the completely crooked original ones with exposed insulation which date from the 1800s (though presumably the insulation, at least, is of later manufacture), we will be sanding and painting the entire area and there are tentative plans to install a floor in the guest cottage, although nobody connected with the project actually has sufficient knowledge of how to go about it. Also, Sister-in-Law Windows just got a job, and full-time baby-sitting duties for her 4 children are being shared out amongst the family; Wax and I had our turn Thu&Fri this week, and her mother will be doing it next week. Meanwhile, it's been rainy and in the 10°C-range all week (perhaps about 52°F), which is, by my standards, not warm enough to be working in damp & windy, non-climate-controlled areas unless the work involves running/jogging/dancing/something that will make you much warmer than hammering in nails.

At her request, I am posting to my journal evidence that Wax did actual work and the wall she built was not an emotional one.
I've been sourfaced, somewhat whiny, and both a) recovering from the NoobFlu (aka drowning in my own snot) and b) complaining at regular intervals that I'm COLD all week long. Wax calls me a delicate hothouse flower. There's no denying that I enjoy making comments like "Oh, it's finally warm - just like a brisk early spring day!" when around me her family members are fanning themselves and other Finns are sunbathing. (Remember: Alabama. I don't consider that it ever gets warm enough in Finland to sunbathe or swim out-of-doors.)
And here is the Crazy sleeping inside Wax's bra.
